Comforts a distressed friend or parent
Treats doll or stuffed animal as though it were alive
Shows awareness of parental approval/disapproval
Asks for permission
Uses greetings and farewells
Indicates beginning of communication: “Hey Mary”
States rules: “I go first”
Makes simple jokes and teases “You can’t have this”
