Social Skils: 6-7 years

  •  Begins to empathize with others and will cry at a sad story
  •  Does not take correction well and will try to hide mistakes.
  •  Is less selfish, can share, wants to please parents and teachers.
  •  Understands the difference between right and wrong 
  •  Waits for turns, is a better loser and less likely to place blame
  •  Uses word play
  •  Can role play and take the listener’s point of view
  •  Begins to use appropriate non-verbal gestures
  •  Uses determination and appropriate discourse codes and styles
  •  Maintains, shifts, and ends topics appropriately
  •  Uses paralinguistic devices such as postures and gestures
  •  Changes vocal inflection to match the situation and/or feeling
